What’s Wrong With Sugar?

From birth our bodies have been programmed to enjoy the sweet taste of sugar because it is in so many of our foods and beverages. Sugar is a main ingredient in nearly everything we eat: ketchup, candy, soda, alcohol, desserts, fruit juices, wine, beer, bread, processed foods, etc. Sure sugar tastes good, but is it good for our body? The answer is NO.

Sugar has also been found to raise triglycerides and bad cholesterol. Sugar feeds cancer cells and has been connected with the development of cancer of the breast, ovaries, prostate, rectum, pancreas, lung, gallbladder and stomach. Sugar can weaken eyesight, cause premature aging, wrinkling the skin. Sugar contributes to obesity and diseases such as diabetes, arthritis, asthma, and multiple sclerosis. Sugar even causes headaches, and the list goes on and on.

Plainly stated, sugar has no redeeming health value whatsoever. Don’t just cut back on your sugar intake, avoid sugar altogether. It may be a hard battle to fight in the beginning, but once your body stops craving sugar, you’ll feel better, think more clearly, have more energy and you’ll be adding time onto your life span. What could be sweeter than that?
