Everyone seems to be worried about the swine flu these days- There is no vaccine for this particular strain. What can you do to avoid coming down with it? I’ve put together a list of things you can do to prevent the swine flu (or any viral infection, for that matter)
- Make sure your body has enough rest-Lack of sleep and stress weakens the immune system. Make sure you are getting enough sleep and have sufficient “down time” to recharge
- Make sure you drink plently of water-water is essential for proper functioning and excretion
- Fortify your immune system with Vitamin C. Other immune boosting supplements are Zinc, Potassium and Echinacea, There are a number of immune boosting formulas on the market. Keep in mind that the influenza is a virus, and natural antibiotics-like goldenseal are not effective against viruses.
- Get chiropractic adjustments-research has showed that adjustments improve immune response. As a matter of fact, chiropractic care during the 1917‑18 influenza epidemic was one of the reasons for profession’s licensure in many states.
Follow these suggestions, don’t panic (creates stress) and talk to your healthcare provider if needed. And remember “It’s not the seed, it’s the soil”
