Chiropractic for more than Back Pain

If you have family members and friends suffering with painful physical conditions and illness, encourage them to give chiropractic adjustments a try. Here’s what they probably don’t know.

A vertebral subluxation is a misalignment of the spine that many times goes unnoticed, yet causes many bodily discomforts and physical aliments. When a vertebra in the spine goes out of alignment it can interfere with nerve, brain and spinal cord communication, causing various body parts to stop functioning as they should, and instead, experience pain and deterioration.

For example, a misalignment in the spine can do the following things:

  • Disrupt the function of your internal organs, glands, muscles, joints and discs
  • Cause pain not only in the back region, but anywhere in your body
  • Induce headaches
  • Accelerate joint aging
  • Cause osteoarthritis
  • Open the door to disease, by lessening your body’s ability to adapt to stress and heal itself
  • Drain you of energy

Prescription drugs can’t remedy the root of the problem, they only mask symptoms. Encourage your family and friends to take their ailments to a chiropractor where they can start to enhance their health and quality of life the safe and noninvasive way.

Cardio power

Alone, chiropractic adjustments make remarkable progress in allowing your body to operate at maximum capacity and heal itself naturally when threatened with illness. As wonderful as chiropractic adjustments are, you could harness even more life-improving power by simply adding exercise to your routine of chiropractic adjustments.

Here’s the good news. Lots of people falsely believe that exercise has to be grueling in order to be effective. The truth is that just 30 minutes of exercise that elevates your heart rate is all you need—and you only have to do it every other day!

Reaching a better quality of life is easier than you think. So don’t think about exercising, grab your sneakers and do it! Here are some motivating facts to consider:

People who keep aerobically fit are six times less likely to die prematurely from heart attack, stroke and arterial clogging.

Cardio and aerobic exercise, done vigorously for 30 minutes, increases your energy usage by 10 times! This means you’ll use excess calories, burn fat, lose weight and become more physically fit.

Many studies have linked alertness and productivity with physical fitness. A Purdue University study found that by increasing personal fitness by 22 percent, a person could improve their mental capacity and decision making ability by a whopping 70 percent. What’s more, NASA scientists proved fitter employees were 12.5 percent more productive than their less active colleagues who tired earlier.

Aerobic and cardio exercises will:

- Increases healthy DKL cholesterol levels
- Helps stabilize blood sugar levels
- Cleanse impurities from the skin
- Strengthen bones to fight osteoporosis
- Lubricate and strengthen joints
- Improve co-ordination and mobility
- Enhance confidence and self-esteem

The Hidden Dangers of Antipsychotic Drugs

Life threatening side effects related to the drugs Zyprexa, Risperdal and Seroquel have recently caused Arkansas to join the ever growing list of states that are now suing major pharmaceutical companies over the improper marketing of anti-psychotic drugs.

In the 1950’s scientists discovered a direct link between antipsychotic drugs and serious side effects such weight gain, hypoglycemia and Type II diabetes. However, pharmaceutical companies hid this fact while downplaying the ability of other drugs to treat specific problems as effectively as their drug.

Worse still, in an effort to make more money, these big pharma companies began marketing their antipsychotic drugs to the very people that were not FDA approved to take such medication—namely children, the elderly and people suffering with run of mill behavioral disorders like depression.

As Arkansas doctors began prescribing the so called miracle drugs Zyprexa, Risperdal and Seroquel to everyone, serious, life altering complications began to pop up all over the state.

In the past 8 years, the Medicaid program of Arkansas has paid for $200 million dollars worth of these prescription drugs—which were improperly dispensed due to fraudulent marketing tactics by three different pharmaceutical companies. The big pharma companies in question are Eli Lilly, Astra Zeneca and Janssen Pharmaceutica.

According to the Medicaid fraud law in Arkansas, pharmaceutical companies may have to repay 3 times that amount in damages. But the question is, can money repair the broken lives and years lost due the terrible side effects of antipsychotic drugs?

Don’t play roulette with the medications. Instead, take natural steps to improving your health and avoiding prescription drugs. Begin by eating healthy foods and staying in shape. Don’t forget a very important part of a healthy lifestyle: regular chiropractic adjustments. By improving the health of your spine, you’ll automatically enhance your body’s god-given ability to heal itself without the interference of medication.

Nasty Fall

Today, as most Sundays, I serve at Oak Leaf Church. As I was walking backstage, I tripped over a storage container and took a nasty fall. It was pretty funny. A few minutes later, I started having intense pain in my neck and a stabbing behind the eye.

I knew something wasn't right. Fortunately, I knew there was a fellow chiropractor in church and after a quick adjustment- I was back to where I could function.

Even a minor trauma can affect your skeletal and nervous system. If you experience trauma, definitely have your spine checked by a chiropractor. It makes all the difference in the world.

Knoxville

Last week we had two guys drive from Knoxville, TN to come and get adjusted. The drive is about 1 1/2 hours each way.

Again, no idea why they drove past hundreds of other chiropractors to see me- I'm flattered, but I'm not so sure that I would do that myself.

Vaccines and Autism

Scientists believe they have found a direct link between childhood vaccinations and autism, asthma and ADHD!

These shocking results come from a ground-breaking study released in June 2007 by Generation Rescue. The research, privately funded without ties to the pharmaceutical industry or the medical community, included an extensive interview of 17,674 vaccinated and unvaccinated children.

When compared to non-vaccinated boys in the same age group, researchers found the following statistics:

- Vaccinated boys age 4-17 are 155 percent more likely to have neurological disorders, are 224 percent more likely to have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and 61 percent more likely to have autism.

- Older boys, in the age range of 11 to 17, who were vaccinated were found to be even more susceptible to autism. They are 158 percent more likely to have a neurological disorder, 317 percent more likely to have ADHD, and 112 percent more likely to have autism.

- Vaccinated boys were 224 percent more likely to develop ADHD.

- Vaccinated boys and girls were 120 percent more likely to develop asthma.

Younger boys that have been vaccinated show less symptoms of autism, however researchers believe that these lower numbers will rise over time as professionals are more able to accurately diagnose the early symptoms of autism in younger children.

Scientists who conducted the study now believe that the mercury found in routine childhood immunizations plays a major role in the ten-fold increase in autism cases over the past two decades.

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 in every 150 children will develop autism.
