Project Complete!

I have just finished a major task-I have redone the Natural Life Clinic Website,While the old one may have looked better, I think this one has better functionality and is easier to navigate.

I am always open for suggestions. I am sure there are some links that are not working-but I will fix those in the next couple of days.

Are Drug companies controllling your health?

The medical community maintains that pharmaceutical companies have no influence on how they treat their patients, or what medications they prescribe. However, a analysis of records in Minnesota-the only state requiring public reports of pharmaceutical payments to doctors, provides rare documentation of how financial relationships between doctors and drug makers correspond to the growing use of antipsychotic drugs in children.

Between the years 2000-2005, drug maker payments to Minnesota psychiatrists rose more than six fold, to $1.6 million. During that same time frame, antipsychotic prescriptions for children in the Minnesota Medicaid program rose more than nine times higher than normal.

Doctors who took the most money from pharmaceutical companies tended to prescribe that companies particular brand of antipsychotic medication much more often than any other brand. On average, Minnesota psychiatrists who received at least $5,000 from drug makers appeared to have written three times as many prescriptions for children as psychiatrists who received less or no money.

If one state out of 50 is already clearly having a problem with pharmaceutical company influence, it’s safe to assume that this warped type of practice is happening all over our country.

If you can’t trust your doctor, you need to put your health into your own hands. Start by taking steps to achieve your best health possible, naturally.

Setbacks

Many of the greats we admire had to face great criticism and setback. Here are a few examples:

Beethoven’s music teacher once said, “As a composer, he is hopeless.”

When Thomas Edison was a boy his teachers told him he was too stupid to learn anything.

FW Woolworth got a job in a dry goods store when he was 21 but his employers would not let him wait on a customer because he “didn’t have enough sense.”

A newspaper editor fired Walt Disney because he had “no good ideas.”

Caruso’s music teacher told him, “You can’t sing, you have no voice.”

Leo Tolstoy flunked out of college.

Werner von Braun flunked 9th grade algebra.

Admiral Richard E. Byrd had retired from the Navy as “unfit for service” until he flew over both poles.

Einstein was four years old before he could speak and seven before he could read.

Isaac Newton did poorly in grade school.

Abraham Lincoln entered the Black Hawk War as a Captain and came out a private.

Louise May Alcott was told by an editor that she could never write anything that had popular appeal.

Winston Churchill failed the sixth grade.

And if they can make it, why can’t you?

I love this :
DO GOOD ANYWAY

People are unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered.
LOVE THEM ANYWAY.

If you do good, people may accuse you of selfish motives.
DO GOOD ANYWAY.

If you are successful, you may win false friends and true enemies.
SUCCEED ANYWAY.

The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow.
DO GOOD ANYWAY.

Honesty and transparency make you vulnerable.
BE HONEST AND TRANSPARENT ANYWAY.

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
BUILD ANYWAY.

People who really want help may attack you if you help them.
HELP THEM ANYWAY.

Give the world the best you have and you may get hurt.
GIVE THE WORLD YOUR BEST ANYWAY.

ADD and ADHD

Usually when a patient comes in with a child, I ask them if they want the child to be checked. If we find subluxations, then I suggest the child get adjusted. This is not to increase my business, since I don't charge for kids under 12 (as long as the parent is a patient). Sometimes people say yes, sometimes they say no, and sometimes they are surprised that we adjust children.

The other day I adjusted a little boy and his mom and grandmother were amazed at the difference that ONE adjustment hade made in his behavior. The kid was diagnosed with ADD and ADHD.

He was on medications-and although it's still too early to tell what will happen, not the parents see that there are other avenues of treatment that were not open to them before.

Feel better, faster-with chiropractic

If you experience recurring discomfort, such as backaches, neck pain, headaches and health problems -- regular chiropractic adjustments will most likely provide the relief you’re looking for.

Every chemical process, function and action your body takes begins as a message sent from your brain. Each message travels through your spinal cord to the appropriate destination. But when a subluxation (misalignment of the spinal vertebrae) occurs in your spine, it places undo pressure on the nerves. This nerve interference can partially or totally block important messages from the brain, often leading to minor and major discomforts and health problems.

Chiropractic adjustments work to reposition your spinal vertebrae naturally, like orthodontics for the spine. Chiropractic adjustments correct structural imbalances to restore normal joint and muscle movement, nerve flow, and immune system operations. Chiropractic adjustments allow your body to operate at its fullest capacity and heal naturally.

If you’re not happy with your current comfort and health situation, seek regular chiropractic adjustments and watch your health and comfort levels begin to rise.

Chiropractic adjustments help earaches

Researchers have uncovered proof that chiropractic adjustments can help earaches more effectively than medication.

In a six-month study, 57 children with recurrent ear infections were divided into two groups. One group received medical care and the other group received chiropractic adjustments.

The group that underwent chiropractic adjustments had fewer earaches and was less likely to need ear tubes than the group using medicine.

How is this possible? Chiropractic adjustments realign the spine into proper position, allowing a clear flow of messages from the brain, down the spinal chord, to every area of the body. These messages help the immune system operate at maximum capacity, fighting off illness, upholding health, and maintaining proper function and movement.

Dreams

Ever since I've been taking AgelessXtra, I have been having these complex, deep dreams. I have no real explanation other that I must be in a deeper sleep state than before. The other night, I woke up for some reason, and then just drifted back into the same dream- COOL!

Meet your New Doctor: Big Pharma

In April 2007 the Washington Post reported that pharmaceutical companies are working harder than ever to reach doctors and influence the medicine they prescribe to patients. Pharmaceutical sales representatives are now visiting doctor’s offices with more frequency, and they don’t come empty handed. In order to charm doctors and sell more medication, sales reps shower doctors with gifts, free meals and consulting fees—all in an effort to push more medication and get richer, faster.

The>New England Journal of Medicine states that 94 percent of U.S. doctors have some sort of relationship with drug companies and at least 80 percent of these doctors admitted to receiving free meals and drug samples (which they handed out in their office.) Another 28 percent of doctors said they had been paid by pharmaceutical companies to give lectures about medications and to sign up patients for clinical trials.

Do you realize that such heavy influence from drug reps means that pharmaceutical companies have now become your doctor—and they’ve never even met you! They don’t know your lifestyle. They don’t know your medical history. They don’t know what adverse reaction you’ll have to their medication. All they know is that persuading doctors to prescribe their medicine is making them rich.

Think twice before you fill that prescription. Better yet, take proactive measures to improve and secure your health naturally. Eat smart. Get exercise. And Make chiropractic adjustments a regular part of your lifestyle.

Margarine vs. Butter

I received this as an email-I thought I would pass this along.

Margarine

Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. When it killed the turkeys, the people who had put all the money into the research wanted a payback so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get their money back.

It was a white substance with no food appeal so they added the yellow coloring and sold it to people to use in place of butter. How do you like it? They have come out with some clever new flavorings.

DO YOU KNOW the difference between margarine and butter?

  • Both have the same amount of calories.
  • Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams compared to 5 grams.
  • Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study.
  • Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods.
  • Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few only because they are added!
  • Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavors of other foods.
  • Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years.
And now, for Margarine..

  • Very high in trans fatty acids.
  • Triple risk of coronary heart disease.
  • Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)
  • Increases the risk of cancers up to five fold.
  • Lowers quality of breast milk.
  • Decreases immune response.
  • Decreases insulin response.
  • And here's the most disturbing fact.... HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERY INTERESTING!
  • Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC..

This fact alone was enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance).

You can try this yourself:

Purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will note a couple of things:

  • no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something)
  • it does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritional value; nothing will grow on it Even those teeny weeny microorganisms will not a find a home to grow. Why? Because it is nearly plastic. Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?

Share This With Your Friends.....(If you want to "butter them up")!
