Better Eyesight

I just had a patient tell me that her eyesight has improved dramatically. One of the things she said was "I can see my eyes when I look in to the mirror!"

The funny thing is, she came to see me for lower back pain-and she still has pain (much less) in her lower back.

100 th visit

We had a patient today that completed his 100th visit today.

This patient comes in for maintenance care. Over the last two years, I have seen him become healthier, lose weight and genuinely take an interest in his health.

Is this due to the adjustments?

I think he is healthier and more aware of his health because of chiropractic-he has seen the changes and realizes he is in control, so he watches what he eats and exercises more.

That is where the incredible stuff happens with chiropractic-you start listening to your "inner voice" and start making healthier choices.

My Space

I have a MySpace page. If you are a MySpace member, you can add me as a contact here . The Natural Life Clinic also has its own MySpace page .

I have found old friends from high school and college. From what I understand, the site is not just for teeny-boppers anymore.

Suicide

Sometimes people are in so much pain and have so little hope that they contemplate suicide. A patient confided in me that I am their last resort-that if they don't see relief, they will check themselves out.

Now I didn't know what to say except that this person really needed me to be confident and offer hope-I did. I also offered a hug and listened to them vent their frustrations a little.

This person's gonna be OK.

Cerebral Palsy

Last week we saw a boy with cerebral palsy. His mother brought him in because she was getting great results with her care and wondered if maybe chiropractic would help.

Two days after the adjustment, his mother said the boy was "walking better, more alert, stopped having seizures, and would now let her know when he needed to use the bathroom!"

Pretty good results after ONE adjustment, I would say.

The very next day another CP case showed up, this time a liitle girl-she had one leg drawn up and her hand drawn and twisted in. Saturday, her dad came in and brought her and showed me that her leg was now relaxed.

Now one of the boy's medical doctors wants a report detailing exactly what I am doing to the kid. They probably want to somehow say that what I am doing is wrong, and to stop it.

Not that I really blame them, they have no clue what I am doing, just that we are getting results-and they are not. I am going against what is called "standard of care"- I am not providing standard medical treatment. There is not a thing they can do because I am not providing medical treatment, I am removing subluxations by providing chiropractic care.

Things to thnk about

Someone sent me this email, and it's one of the few that I actually laughed at. Here goes:

  • Can you cry under water?
  • How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just murdered?
  • Why do you have to "put your two cents in".. but it's only a "penny for your thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going to?
  • Once you're in heaven, do you get stuck wearing the clothes you were buried in for eternity?
  • Why does a round pizza come in a square box?
  • What disease did cured ham actually have?
  • How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?
  • Why is it that people say they "slept like a baby" when babies wake up like every two hours?
  • If a deaf person has to go to court, is it still called a hearing?
  • Why are you IN a movie, but you're ON TV?
  • Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?
  • Why do doctors leave the room while you change? They're going to see you naked anyway.
  • Why is "bra" singular and "panties" plural?
  • Why do toasters always have a setting that burns the toast to a horrible crisp, which no decent human being would eat?
  • If Jimmy cracks corn and no one cares, why is there a stupid song about him?
  • Can a hearse carrying a corpse drive in the carpool lane ?
  • If the professor on Gilligan's Island can make a radio out of a coconut, why can't he fix a hole in a boat?
  • Why does Goofy stand erect while Pluto remains on all fours?
  • They're both dogs!
  • If Wiley E. Coyote had enough money to buy all that ACME crap, why didn't he just buy dinner?
  • If corn oil is made from corn, and vegetable oil is made from vegetables, what is baby oil made from?
  • If electricity comes from electrons, does morality come from morons?
  • Do the Alphabet song and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star have the same tune?
  • Why did you just try singing the two songs above?
  • Why do they call it an asteroid when it's outside the hemisphere, but call it a hemorrhoid when it's in your butt?
  • Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dog's face, he gets mad at you, but when you take him for a car ride; he sticks his head out the window?
  • Do you ever wonder why you gave me your e-mail address in the first place?

The times are a'changin

Stopped for coffee and gas at my favorite convenience store today. It's in Adairsville, a small town on I-75 on the way to Dalton.

Got my coffee and was waiting in line to pay and the guy working behind the counter says to a customer, "Grrracias, cuñao. Tenn un buaen dia" .

Which means roughly-" thanks cuz, have a good day. Now that would not have happened in a small town in Georgia 10-not even 5 years ago.

Rain

It was slow and raining this morning, and I got a chance to just sit and look out the window at the rain.

It reminded me of what I used to do when I was a kid in Panama-where I would sit for hours looking out at the rain.
