Health Fairs

This week has been incredibly busy because we participated in several industrial health fairs (with Mohawk and Shaw). I must have worked on over 80 people on Thursday alone!
For those of you who don't understand what we do at health fairs, we offer to check people's spines and offer them a complimentary mini-massage.
I will be glad when the week is over so I can get some much needed rest.

I jinxed the Falcons!

I went to see the Atlanta Falcons game with my brothers-in-law today and they lost to the New York Giants 27-14. I think I jinxed them because they had only lost one game this season.
Oh well, they'll get over it.

Psoriasis can kill you
A bad case of psoriasis can lead to a heart attack!
This is the conclusion researchers came up with after conductiong a study that was published in JAMA-the Journal of the American Medical Association they found that people with psoriasis in their forties were more than twice as likely to die of a heart attack than people without the skin disease.
This is attributed to inflammation. You can view the story here.
So what can you do to combat inflammation? A great product that I recommend to my patients is Thai-GO, from Nature's Sunshine.

Amazing!
Today a patient came in for a second visit. He said his low back was doing better and I asked him about his strabismus (he was cross-eyed). He said that he had been that way since birth.
Just a bit curious, I decided to work on him using a Technique I learned from Dr. Tedd Koren, KST. A minute later he got up from the table and both eyes were looking straight ahead!
We don't know if this is a permanent or temporary change, but it's incredicble anyway.
I have a pretty cool job.

Pink Ribbon? No, thank you.

Every year we are all inundated with request to buy a ribbon, to walk, to give your extra change to find "a cure" for breast cancer.
Sorry, but I can't. The reason is that most of these foundations don't do any sort of alternative medicine research. If you were to listen to the media, you would think that the only treatment that has any hope of being successful is traditional medical treatment. What about successful treatments by Rene Caisse in Canada in the 1930's?
What about treatments using megadoses of antioxidants?
Some people would say that some of these treatments are "unproven" or "not scientific".
Well, let's do some research on the thousands of case studies that have shown these treatments to work.
We need to stop subsidizing drug companies' efforts for "research" and start to find real answers. Just think of all the billions of dollars wasted by looking in the wrong direction.
Did you know that more people earn their living from cancer than actually have the disease? That industry is not interested in a cure, they just want people to live a little longer by taking their drugs.
It's not that I am insensitive to people with cancer, I lost my father to cancer. I just think that if we truly wanted to find a cure, we would have done it in the 36 years since president Nixon declared "the war on cancer"
So, do you want me to buy a ribbon? Don't get me started again..

The 5 Day Headache

I saw someone recently that suffered from a migraine headache for 5 days straight.
This young man had been to the emergency room, various doctors and taken a lot of medications-no change in the migraine.
They came in and after a 5 minute adjustment, they reported 80% improvement! I told him to go home and take a nap and let me know how he felt afterward.
I got a call later on that day and he said "no headache!"
I wonder how many people out there are suffering daily when all they really need is a good adjustment to restore proper fubction to the body.
